
Jeffrey Hayman
Jeff Hayman is a leader, investor, and advisor in the global insurance industry and a philanthropist in his community. Jeff manages a portfolio of advisory roles, most notably as Executive Advisor to the Group CEO of Sompo Holdings, a major Japan based, global multi line insurer. Hayman is also an Advisory Board member of Cytora, a rapidly growing company using AI to offer a configurable platform that enables commercial insurers and brokers to process risks at greater efficiency and accuracy, and an advisor with related investments in other promising early-stage companies. He manages these relationships via his company, Lakeview Timbers LLC.
In addition to these current roles his background includes many years of leadership and governance in major insurance organizations such as:
* A year and a half as Chairman, including 10 months as Interim CEO during the restructuring of R&Q Insurance Holdings Ltd. (AIM - RQIH)
* Five years as member of the Zurich Insurance Group LTD (SIX - ZURN) board of directors, including committee chair responsibilities.
* 15 years with AIG, culminating with two years as CEO, Global Consumer Insurance, and including 6 years as CEO, Far East Property Casualty located in Tokyo, Japan, where he lived for nearly 12 years
* 15 years in various executive and management positions with Travelers Insurance
Nearer to home, Jeff is a member of the board of trustees and supporter of the Food Bank of South Jersey, a vital organization that exists to provide an immediate solution to the urgent problem of hunger by providing food to people in need, teaching them to eat nutritiously, and helping them to find sustainable ways to improve their lives. He is also Chairman and co-founder of Hungry Minds, Inc., a 501(c)3 charitable private foundation established by the Hayman family. Hungry Minds focuses on public school students' food security and academic opportunities. The Haymans have supported hunger and education needs, primarily, for decades.
Jeff has served in the past on multiple other public company boards. He is also a past Chairman of the Foreign Non-Life Insurance Association in Japan and served as a member of the Board of Directors of both The Korea Society and The Japan Society, both in New York City.
Hayman holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science with honors from Saint Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota and an MBA degree from the University of Hartford, Barney School of Business and Public Administration, West Hartford Connecticut. He also holds Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designations.
